An Introduction to Woody Invasive Plants

A number of woody invasives threaten Ontario’s environment, economy and society. These are plants that are introduced to areas outside of their natural range, typically via human activity. Once established, they can outcompete native plants, degrade wildlife habitat, impact species at risk, impede access to recreational activities and impact human health and safety. This 1.5 hr session will cover the biology, life cycle, habitat, pathways of spread and impacts of several invasive woody plants.
