Invasive Phragmites is a threat to Ontario’s biodiversity, economy, and society. Join us for this informative workshop to learn the knowledge and skills you need to start managing Phragmites today!

Learn together with other dedicated individuals in our interactive virtual learning platform and earn a certificate in Phragmites Best Management Practices from the Ontario Invasive Plant Council! This two-part workshop will provide a broad overview of current Best Management Practices for Phragmites, summarizing the latest information gathered from experts in the field of invasive species management.

Choose the time that fits your schedule! This workshop series will be offered twice during the month of June.

Session 1: Part 1 on Tuesday, June 8 and Part 2 Tuesday, June 15; 9:30am-12:00pm

Session 2: Part 1 on Thursday, June 10 and Part 2 Thursday, June 17; 6:00-8:30pm

In Part 1, attendees will gain a broad understanding of Phragmites, its biology, ID characteristics, and pathways of spread. In Part 2, attendees will be introduced to the tools and strategies recommended for the control of Phragmites, with time and support for the creation of a management plan. Your registration in this workshop includes attendance in both of these classes, in alignment with the session times you selected.
