Common Buckthorn is a threat to Ontario’s biodiversity, economy, and society. Join us for this informative workshop to learn the knowledge and skills you need to start managing Common Buckthorn today!

Learn together with other dedicated individuals in our interactive virtual learning platform and earn a certificate in Buckthorn Best Management Practices from the Ontario Invasive Plant Council! This two-part workshop will provide a broad overview of current Best Management Practices for Common Buckthorn, summarizing key information gathered from experts in the field of invasive species management.

Live classes will be held virtually on Thursday, May 27 (Part 1), and Thursday, June 3 (Part 2), from 6-8pm.

In Part 1, attendees will gain a broad understanding of Buckthorn, its biology, ID characteristics, and pathways of spread. In Part 2, attendees will be introduced to the tools and strategies recommended for the control of Buckthorn, with time and support for the creation of a management plan. Your registration in this workshop includes attendance in both of these classes.
